As a Church of England School, we are always looking for ways to develop our religious character in accordance with the principles and practice of the Church of England and in partnership with our Church, St Mary and the Holy Cross and the Diocese.
At the end of the last academic year we reviewed our school values with a focus on how we can help children to achieve their potential socially, emotionally, spiritually and academically in a way that reflects the needs and strengths of our particular school community. As a result, we have decided to implement a set of 6 core Christian Values. These will be taught through relevant bible stories, collective worship, incorporated in the classroom and wider school environment and form the basis of our behaviour expectations.
We area also introducing a set of overarching values with a PSHE focus (Personal, Social, Health and Economic) which we feel complement the Christian Values and help to give a broad and balanced view of society.
We are very excited to introduce our new values and topics to the children and hope the teaching of these will enable children to gain a deeper understanding of the world our place within it.
