Outside classroom day
Each year we hold an empty classroom day where all the learning is done outside of the classroom. This year Mrs Foord organised another amazing day of learning. We enjoyed a whole day in the beautiful woodland next to our school. The whole school from year R to 6 joined in with a variety of activities including baking campfire quesadillas, making bird feeders, cutting snowflakes, painting with mud, building dens, going on bear hunts and climbing fallen trees. The children also made clay animals, learnt about hibernating animals, dressed up and told stories. The children were able to spend the day discovering activities and learning new skills with independence, creativity and curiosity. It was a wonderful day of discovery. We are so lucky that our school is on the edge of beautiful woodland that offers such fantastic opportunities for learning.
